Installing your bot and creating roles for admins.
Installation Location
We encourage you to be thoughtful and strategic with where you install your bot. If your bot only knows answers to IT Help Desk questions, placing the bot on the homepage of your school website will lead to a bad user experience. Installing the IT Help Desk bot on the IT Help Desk web page(s) will drive higher engagement and result in a better user experience. Because installation is simple (copying and pasting a single line of code into the HTML into your website), you’ll be able to easily modify where your bot is installed should the need arise.
Pro Tip: If you are able, we recommend placing the installation code in a part of your CMS that cascades throughout child pages, like in the header and footer. This means that you can add the code to a single location, and all child pages will automatically load the bot!
Administrator Roles
Within your Admin Portal, you will have the ability to invite additional Admin users at your discretion. In the Admins section of your Admin Portal, administrators can view and edit the various accounts that have access to the bot. You can view the admins’ avatar, name, email, and job title. This information can be edited by selecting the ellipsis next to their name, then the “Edit Info” button. If you wish to force an admin to log out, you can select “Force Logout”. If you wish to deactivate a user, select the “Deactivate User” option.
Additionally, you can use the filters on the right panel to filter admins by Role or Status.
There are five different permission levels for you to choose from when assigning Admins:
- Bot Manager: can access all features in the IQ Admin Portal, as well as the ability to manage admins. Does not include the ability to live chat with end-users.
- Live Agent: users that will be managing or using any of the Message Center platforms will need this permission to accept live chats
- SMS Campaign Manager: the ability to send SMS campaigns and access Contact lists
- Bot Customizer: Update bot responses and stylistic elements
- Reports Viewer: the ability to view dashboards and reports
